ABOUT ASSOCIATION

 

Association Novita is a professional, voluntary, independent, nonprofit association of natural and legal persons involved in any way in the field of intergenerational cooperation, social welfare, security and health sciences and other interested persons who are otherwise faced with different age groups.

On our website, we published the latest posts for different age groups: children and young, adults and elderly. We implement a variety of projects and programs.

 

PURPOSE AND GOAL OF ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION

 

The association’s objective is an intergenerational interaction between different generations, both individuals and groups, the participation of members and other interested persons and the promotion and strengthening of intergenerational cooperation and development of interpersonal relationships through awareness, information, preventive and curative action, and education. Monitoring of good practice from abroad and cooperation with foreign organizations, creating it`s own and their implementation in the Slovenian space, increasing knowledge about their own safety.

 

A VISION THAT GROWS WITH US

 

The vision of society is the introduction of intergenerational centers in as many Slovenian towns, and will be for everyone. Older people will come there to meet, socialize, read newspapers, play games, learn computer science, languages, learn about other countries, learn new things and accept new challenges. They will also pass down their knowledge, experiences and wisdom to younger generations and thus passed the tradition and heritage to new generations. At the same time, they would get in one place plenty of advice and help from each other and the professional staff, all free of charge. Enabled them to escort and assist in arranging official matters. The elderly should remain and become active members of society. The middle generation in such centers is very welcome as a source of information, knowledge and new ideas. It is necessary to relieve the Middle generation, also called the sandwich generation phenomenon, and to allow them to have time for themselves and to lend support. For this purpose, we will in intergenerational centers, among other things provide child care and individual volunteering at home. We will also offer various educational seminars and training. We must not forget the essence of our future – young people and children. Even for them, we will provide various forms of socializing and useful leisure time. The intergenerational center students will take advantage of individual and group tutoring for school, creative workshops, they would make new friendships and foster intergenerational cooperation and much more. These centers will also represent a safe point for everyone that will need help (personal distress, victims of crime in a broader sense, the loss of a close one), we will raise awareness of all age groups about their rights and assist them in achieving them.

 

The intergenerational center will include unemployed people, individuals who are difficult to employ in collaboration with the Centres for Social Work. Older people will be able to spend days in the center, which will provide for their basic needs with the possibility of nutrition. In this way, we enable older people to stay longer in their own home with their family. And elderly relatives, who will decide to stay in the nursing home will be offered help and support in the preparation, organization and final adoption of this decision. With the various programs of the intergenerational centre, we wish to include the widest possible range of people – from towns and villages.
