Leisure time

 

 

Middle aged or active population is most affected by harmonizing work, family, household and their needs. Working days are getting longer and obligations overcrowded, most of them have school-age children who need to be driven to extra-curricular activities, so that they often lack the time that would be spent only on themselves and to activities they love.

 

How does the middle age generation spends their free time?

  • sports;

  • read books, magazines;

  • a visit to the theater, cinema.

 

Despite the crowded working day or week it is a good idea to take some time, at least during the weekend to gather new strength, as overload leads to stress and mental and physical burnout. Most of our activities that we had before we started a family, become a common activity that you spend with your family. In particular, women are overloaded.

 

So, what are the activities that you can do together?

  • cycling; with the whole family go for a trip;

  • take a walk in nature;

  • sports activities; playing with ball, roller skating, badminton, skiing;

  • creating, drawing, painting;

  • board Games.

 

Why taking care of yourself is so important?

In particular, after the 30th birthday, when your daily routine is rotated between family, work and too rare minutes of leisure time, sport is the right choice if you want to eliminate the negative effects of stress. In doing so, you definitely should not set too high goals, but rather practice on a regular basis, with enjoyment, otherwise you may find that the feelings of stress will only deepen. At the same time there is another pleasant side effect: if you will regularly do sports you will not have problems with overweight. For the well-being of body and mind Yoga also helps a lot. Yoga is a versatile activity that deals with the body and affect the mental and spiritual level. It is suitable for all ages, does not require above-average motor skills and provides training to people who are not in good physical shape. Yoga can be performed organized in groups or individually.

 

What are the most common pitfalls in the use of leisure time?

  • congestion; we need to be careful to choose the activity or activities that are close to us and they are done with enjoyment and we are not exaggerating with the time scale. Too much work and leisure commitments additionally burden us or cause additional stress;

  • exaggeration with sport activity; sport is very useful, because with it, we avoide the risk of heart disease, but untrained organism should not be burdened too much. If we are not sufficiently physically prepared for the physical strain, increased body burden can cause serious health problems;

  • not enough time for children and partner; despite the fact that it is of course good to take a few hours a week just for yourself and our activities we shouldn't neglect other family members. There is many activities that the whole family can do together, from board games, sporting activities, etc.
