Violence

 

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR VIOLENCE!

VIOLENCE IS ABUSE OF POWER!

FAMILY VIOLENCE IS MOST OFTEN!

 

 There are different forms of violence.

  • Physical violence - the use of physical force or threat of force, which is focused on the body or life. This includes slapping, kicking, throwing objects at victims, beating, etc. Physical violence results in addition to visible damage and ha psychological consequences, such as fear, distrust, self-closing, anxiety, suicide, etc.

  • Psychological violence - mostly verbal behavior that causes a person a distress. This includes humiliation, control, insults, criticism, incitement of children toward their partner, ignoring, etc.

  • Sexual violence - intervention in the sexual integrity of the individual. This includes rape, sexual abuse of children or infirm persons, the elderly, incest, solicitation for sex, inappropriate comments, staring. Victims of sexual violence are isolated from its surroundings, become depressed, become suspicious, shame can occur, also eating disorders and sexual dysfunction.

  • Economic violence - controlling, limiting the sole disposition of income and assets. In particular, it relates to domestic violence between partners, between / against the elderly.

  • Neglection - the abandonment of caring for a family member who, for whatever factor, is no longer able to care for himself. In particular, it relates to the abandonment of caring for a child or an elderly, disabled or sick person.

 

 Violence, bullying and violence in schools, violence against the elderly, violence against / between partners, workplace violence, violence against each other, can appear in different forms of violence described above.

 

Psychological violence is very often in sociaty. Not visible to the outside, it does not cause any visible consequences, but the consequences can be more serious for the victim than physical violence.

 

 

VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE - Mobbing

 

Victimizing, bullying, psychological harassment, mistreatment of subordinates, superiors or colleagues conducted a systematic, is repeated and causes severe effects on the social, health and psychological field.

 

Mobbing occurs in countless different forms, the most common are:

  • criticizing the work of victims

  • humiliation, insults, threats

  • mockery of victims defects  

  • spreading  lies and rumors

  • monitoring emails

  • disrupting communications

  • mocking the victim's life

  • mockery of victim`s appearance

  • inappropriate allocation of tasks

  • social exclusion and ignoring

  • sexual harassment

 

Mobbing occurs in so-called stages that follow.

It begins with a conflict or critical events, which itself does not lead to mobbing (new management). If it is followed by aggressive acts, mental pressures initiating the process of maltreatment. The leader managment can get involve in the process, which can socially isolate and exclude the victim from the working environment, instead of being supportive to victim and offer to help. The victim can get label like being difficult, mentally ill persons. At this stage, victims often leave the job / organization against their will. This is followed by the last phase, which may be a victim as a person psychologically destroyed. The victim feels excluded, affects psychosomatic problems and poor self-esteem.
